HP, Snape/Lupin, R, 'Melt' (March 2005)
Title: Melt
Author:
obeythebunny
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Snape/Lupin
Rating: R
Summary: Dumb little PWP drabble that I've had in my bunny book forever. Didn't get written because it's a subject that's been done to death, and while it's hardly very original, it's sort've a homage to my Lindt 70% addiction and it's dedicated to the lovely
cruisedirector ;o)
Warning: Erm... PWP. Potentially unhygienic usage of Confectionary. Chocolate-coated Lupin, anyone?! *GUH*
Feedback: Ain't just what happens when you smash your guitar up, kids!
Disclaimer: The guys are property of JK Rowling. I just help them to get on that little bit better... :op
Chocolate is The Cure. Or at least Lupin always treats it as such and he's not averse to encouraging creative usage. It makes you feel good, certainly; certainly and unquestionably.
Snape has schooled himself in muggle chemistry, not only a compliment to potions craft but also a case of Know Your Enemy. He knows about endorphins and he knows about serotonin and he knows just why chocolate is a little bit like sex. Because it's all a case of the familiar versus the exotic - muggle lovers might talk dreamily of 'magic', but Severus knows the true meaning of 'chemistry'; even the word is more sensual, somehow, that soft, suggestive 's' more appealing than two solid, hardy syllables; ma-gic.
When you melt chocolate and drizzle it onto skin, it is hot and it burns. Lupin's tongue follows the path, the chocolate bitter and black like the man himself but oh so good, rich and sinful and snaps when you break it (like the man himself) nothing like that insipid milk stuff that the children go for. Lupin likes the crack, his teethmarks and delicate print of the lines in his lips on the polished black surface of the bitter sweet. And Snape keeps his robes on, unbuttoned just enough and his shirt too, and more... to bare his chest sufficient for a path of waxy heat to be traced. It's more obscene somehow, this way, this keeping something back. Lupin likes to be naked, because it's more exciting that way, too, this shedding of genteel pretence; he well knows the power of scars hidden beneath a smart - once smart - suit; he knows a little about 'chemistry' too.
When the molten chocolate scalds him, Snape immediately, reflexively starts to whisper a healing charm. Lupin puts fingers to his lips to silence him - the pain is part of the pleasure - long, graceful, tapered fingers, covered in chocolate and Snape parts his lips to take them in, sucking with dissolute enthusiasm until Lupin's mouth moves too low for him to reach and Snape's mouth opens wide in a gasp then, his eyelids sliding distractedly closed...
Snape knows why chocolate makes you feel good; knows about chemistry and magic and why it's a little bit like sex. It's because you don't have to enjoy it alone.
*bangs head against desk* Spring fever, anyone?! *whimper*
